Enabling microphone on laptops/desktops

This article was created as a fix for the Teams dictation option not allowing speech to translate into text. translating speech into text.

1. Right click the speaker at the bottom right, and select "Open Sound Settings".
2. Scroll down on the sound settings to the very bottom, where you will see "Input".
3. Select "Device Properties" under Input.
4. Select "Additional device properties"
5. Navigate to "Levels" and ensure that the Microphone is turned up to 100 and the speaker icon on the right side of the 100 does not have a red circle with a cross through it.
