What to do if you can't see any shared drives in File Explorer?

This is usually an issue with Cloud Drive Mapper, either not being logged in, or not being installed.

Cloud Drive Mapper, is a utility software we use to Map SharePoint Sites as Shared Drives on your computer. So when you click on File Explorer, and you can see Staff Share, SIMS, etc. this is what Cloud Drive Mapper is doing but with SharePoint Sites.

Symptoms:

No shared drives appearing in the left hand panel.

Solution:

This is commonly an issue with not being logged into Cloud Drive Mapper. When booting up the computer, you should, eventually, be greeted with a login box for Office 365

Please be aware this is just an example, and unless you are a student or staff member in a Magnificat school, your login box may not look the same as this.

In the above login box, you need to enter your email address and password and this should add the shared drives, it may take  a couple of minutes though.

If you don't receive this login box, or you have closed it then please click on the up arrow in the bottom right hand corner of your main monitor.

After clicking on this you need to look for a cloud icon, with writing inside.

When hovering over this symbol you may see the below message:

If not then you should still try the below steps.

Left click on the icon and select 'Authenticate Now'

This might open the following window:

Please login and wait.

After a while, it should open another window where you will need to login to office 365.

Please be aware this is just an example, and unless you are a student or staff member in a Magnificat school, your login box may not look the same as this.

Please login and wait.

Eventually, as long as no error messages occur, you should see a notification appear saying: "Drives Mapped"

If you check on File Explorer, you should now see that you have now got access to the shared drives.

If you check back in File Explorer your should now see a OneDrive mapped drive, and some other shared drives.
