AirDrop is unable to discover my device.

Check AirDrop is enabled on both devices. Below are some instructions on how to do this:

Check IOS AirDrop device is discoverable:
  1. Go to Settings
  2. General
  3. AirDrop
  4. Select your discoverability mode as Everyone

Check Macbook (OSX) AirDrop device is discoverable: 
  1. Select AirDrop in the Finder’s Go menu (Or hit Command – Shift – R )
  2. Adjust AirDrop visibility by clicking the link next to ”Allow me to be discovered by” in the AirDrop window. Then choose Everyone.



Selecting "Everyone" is the best way to prevent complications arising from limiting AirDrop, however be aware it does mean anyone can send a file to your devices does present risk. We would recommend using contacts only mode / turning off Air Drop when not in use.
