Arbor - Adding a New Staff Member

Modified on Thu, 1 Jul, 2021 at 11:15 AM

A new staff member has started at your school/is going to start at your school. You will need to add them into Arbor, so that they can be counted in the census, be on your records as well as have access to Arbor.
Please ensure that you have permissions to add new staff members.

In the Arbor top menu go to School -> All Staff -> Add New Staff Member

When you reach the add new staff member page, you will be presented with a table to fill in with the basic details of the staff member. Any fields marked with a * are mandatory and must be filled in.

The person must be at least 16 years old to be added to Arbor.

The email address should be the staff member's work email, this is so they sign in with their work email rather than a personal email.

Once the contact details are filled in, you will be required to provide the staff member a business role. (If you do not provide a business role, the staff member will not be able to log in to Arbor. You can set the start date as the day the staff member is due to start at your school.

By ticking Send Welcome Email, the staff member will be emailed instructions on how to sign into Arbor, they will need to have an email entered to do this.

Once done, select the green Create Staff Member in the bottom right.

Once you have added them you can finish creating their profile by filling in all the sections that you require.

To disable an account but keep the staff member on contract, this is instead of removing business roles which would in turn affect other entries recorded on the staff profile.

In the Arbor top menu go to School -> Users & Security

Select User List

Select a user from the list.

Select Disable Account, then once you want to reenable the account you can do so.
